Wow, it’s summertime and the sun is shining here at Domaine du Sourire. It’s the moment for the roses to bloom.
But it has not been a time to sit and rest and enjoy these simple pleasuresbut rather it’s been hectic unpacking all the stuff, settling in to the new apartment and getting the gites ready for guests. Days and evenings have been hot and dusty and dirty.
Days like these back in Ireland probably mean fish and chip suppers but here in the Dordogne that is far from appealing.
No rather it is the season of salads and here is a lovely cheeky little recipe from O’Reilly Recipes for Red Apple, celery, walnut and honey Salad served with Manchengo Cheese.
Delicious and light. So easy to rustle up after a tough and dusty day cleaning (us!); or a day leisurely cycling around our beautiful countryside, or day canoeing on the river or even a sunny lazy day lounging by the heated pool. Serves 4.
