Domaine du Sourire
Your hosts, Terry and Jackie lived most of their life inbetween Scotland and Ireland. Terry is a manx-born man while Jackie has both Scots and Irish blood running through her veins. Two years ago they decided to get out of the rat-race and go and live somewhere warmer in the beautiful French countryside. This was when an exciting opportunity for some hard and rewarding work presented itself, in the form of a Gite holiday complex. After much research and planning, they discussed with the owners, Dawn and Mark Camilli about buying into this unique gite complex.
Jackie’s father, Sandy, had spent several years in France supporting Dawn, Mark and his sister Teresa build this fantastic site into the busy Gite holiday complex it is today. This is where the family link comes in, giving Jackie and Terry the opportunity to add their personal touch and keep the family spirit alive. They are both hands-on people with a can-do attitude and a willingness to help anyone. Ask and they will do their best to make it happen. Upon departure, all guests will be excited to return time and time again; it’s almost a certainty.
The Domaine du Sourire started life as a derelict farm and through raw passion and four years of non stop work, a complex with four wonderful Gites, swimming pool and play areas was formed. The doors were formally opened to the public in 2013 with the first guests traveling from the UK, Holland and Belgium. The Domaine du Sourire is fully wheelchair-accessible and this is by purposeful design; they do not discriminate and welcome everyone.
Jackie speaks kind and honest words about her father Sandy. He was a life long friend of the Camillis family for many years and spent much of his retirement living at Domaine du Sourire. He was responsible for helping transform it from a building site into the wonderful facility it is today. We are all indebted to him for his hard work and enthusiasm on this project which would not have come to fruition without him.
